Jointly sponsored by Jinji Lake Grand Hotel and Suzhou Industrial Park One-stop Service Centre for Expats, an international food carnival, part of the SIP Golden Autumn ? Three Lakes Carnival, kicked off in SIP on Oct 19, drawing approximately 150 guests into a vibrant celebration of global flavors and local culture.

Upon entering the venue, the participants were greeted with an impressive variety of dishes cooked by the Jinji Lake Grand Hotel’s chefs. The menu blended innovative Suzhou cuisine with diverse international dishes, offering everything from grilled specialties and hot dishes to delicate desserts.

The atmosphere grew especially lively as a group of international students shared flavors from their home countries. Among them, Nigerian students Eunice and Comfort, dressed in traditional attire, introduced their native fried rice with infectious enthusiasm.

Interactions deepened the engagement. Participants tried their hands at making Suzhou-style mung bean cakes, learned the art of properly dismantling a Yangcheng Lake hairy crab, and joined in various games like the “Chopstick Challenge”.

Meanwhile, an intangible cultural heritage exhibition was held, featuring sugar painting, Suzhou embroidery, traditional tea making process, etc.
